Finger(s) on the Pulse

The painted resin texture that I pulled off the canvas that became Strata went into this piece, and somehow what wasn’t working for the other one absolutely fit the direction I was already headed in here. The inversion aspect of what one would expect to be the background texture in the foreground, and the ghostly hand-prints behind that gives it a raw vulnerability in my opinion. This piece is also part of my urban inspired series because the texture is so gritty and worn. It feels like parts of an abandoned building, and it grounds the polarity of what one could view as a celestial backdrop. In my mind however, it is not an otherworldly context… it is the static and kinetic kind of energy of being part of a scene, of having your finger on the pulse.
