Siren Snail

This piece is another example of my deconstruction method. The underlayer colors are rich earthy browns, purples, blues, greens and rust… almost like the color of oil slick. The texture comes from leftover pieces of resin run-off, a meandering (snail) trail of Dremel carvings and pieces of flourescent light covers.
The painting combines both organic and geometric elements, resulting in a visually dense composition. In the bottom right corner, the initials "XHI" are subtly incorporated into the design.
