This piece began as a happy accident and turned into a full-blown treasure hunt.

At first glance, it looks like a mysterious map—part puzzle, part circuit board, part archaeological dig. But lean a little closer and you’ll start spotting the secrets hiding in plain sight. Old fragments, curious shapes, and rescued odds-and-ends are embedded in layers of resin like relics from some forgotten workshop.

Then came the fun part: the carving. Using a Dremel, winding paths and puzzle-like lines were etched across the surface, weaving through the collage like tiny roads connecting the past to the present. Some paths lead to little pockets of found objects, others spiral into abstract shapes that look like gears, portals, or maybe just playful mischief.

The surface has a weathered, time-traveled look—deep ocean blues, worn ivory edges, and splashes of texture that feel like they’ve lived a few lifetimes already. Letters drift across the scene like clues in a scavenger hunt, inviting viewers to invent their own stories about what they mean.

Is it a map? A machine? A puzzle waiting to be solved? Maybe all three.
