“Once we begin looking for signs of love, we tend to find them everywhere.”

The seventh and eighth in the ongoing #ispyhearts series take the act of looking closely and counting the hearts one step further. At first, the two oversized letters command all the attention… however, once the seeking begins the H, R, and T emerge from within them, quietly completing the word HEART across the two works.

The series’ materials continue with my heart photographs, resin and Dremel carvings but also include cardboard palette fragments, vintage marquee letters, and broken plastic vases with discarded tie-wire ‘flowers’.

While they are titled and numbered separately, they are intended as a set so as not to break the heart.
