Solstice (Summer & Winter) is a two-panel mixed media collage exploring contrast, connection, and the shifting rhythms of the seasons. Built entirely from fabric and textile-based materials, the work combines cyanotypes created on paper towels with hand-painted and distressed fabric, cut into organic and geometric forms.
The deep indigo blues and weathered copper tones suggest the opposing energies of summer and winter, while repeated shapes, textures, and fragments create visual relationships between the two panels. Simple hand stitching moves across and between elements, functioning less as ornament than as a subtle thread of connection—bringing disparate materials and forms into conversation.
