Originally created in 2009-2010… I decided to completely remake this piece in my current process and style of layering and abstraction. Not only does it feel completely renewed to me, the piece itself depicts a cleansing and transformation in real time.
This piece at its core is made up of helium balloons, newsprint, found odds & ends for collage, acrylic paint… then a layer of resin and gingko leaves with a final wash of more acrylic and chalk paint.
“An evocative abstract that feels both mapped and weathered, this painting layers dense texture, fractured grids, and drifting lines of white and blue over deep reds and earthen tones. It suggests a city seen through time—streets erased and redrawn, memories embedded beneath the surface. Raw, tactile, and quietly kinetic, it invites close looking and personal interpretation.”
